I bought someone a birthday present the other day even though they had let me down. I did it retisently and nearly didn’t do it at all. It turns out that, for a significant birthday, very few had bought him presents. The thought doesn’t end here though. Under the banner of a good feeling US flick, he’d remember this act for the rest of his days and we would be bosom buddies forever. But that’s not real life. The reality is, as soon as attention is given from another, that deed is forgotten history. We only have the now to be kind and sometimes being the bigger person makes you feel better. Well do it because it makes YOU feel better not because you will get anything back from it, of course you may if you’re lucky.
